A Shining Beacon OF LYBS Values, CAS

As a shining beacon of LYBS values, the new CAS framework will enable students to demonstrate attributes of the IB learner profile in real and practical ways, to grow as unique individuals and to recognize their role in relation to others. Moreover, it will support students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development. Through CAS, our students will continue to strengthen the approaches to learning they have encountered and developed over the years of their studies. In approaches to learning, students are encouraged to grow both personally and socially, developing skills such as cooperation, problem-solving, conflict resolution and creative and critical thinking, as well as developing their own identities.

——LYBS International Head of SchoolMr. Antony GERALIS

CAS is organized around the three strands of creativity, activity and service defined as follows.

· Creativity—exploring and extending ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or performance.

· Activity—physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle.

· Service—collaborative and reciprocal engagement with the community in response to an authentic need.

The options provided will complement a challenging academic programme in a holistic way, providing opportunities for self-determination, collaboration, accomplishment and enjoyment.
